Organization of a new bee family

The number of families can be increased if the apiary has free uterus or queen eggs and spare hives.

Hive well and dry the hives. Then prepare a place for the family: mow the grass, install the hive stand.

To the nest of a strong family, from which they decided to organize a new one, bring the cooked beehive, put it behind the mother’s hive, tap into the opposite direction. So you bees will not interfere. Open the mother hive and gently, using the smoke, transfer into the free beehive 3 frames with a printed brood and bees sitting on them. Each frame is carefully inspected to not move the uterus. In the new hive, in addition, shake off the bees for another 2-3 frames, in which the larvae are not sealed with lids. There are more young bees here.

At the edges of the new nest, place it on the frame with food, protect it with wooden diaphragms, warm it well and take the hive to the prepared place.

After a while, when from the new beehive old bees will fly home, and only young people will remain, it is better by the evening, the family is to plant the uterus in a cage or give a motherhood. Pull the stem or uterus between the honeycombs, slightly pushing the frame apart. Summers greatly reduce, so that bees-thieves do not attack the family.

Follow the lead for the layering. Day through 3 young family will come alive. Another day after 3-4 it should be strengthened with one or two frames of printed brood. It can be taken in any family.

Try to organize a new family in other ways.

Hives in the school garden.

For the apiary, it is better to take a place away from the road, so that the bees are calmer, and they do not interfere with passers-by, especially since many are afraid of bees. A good place is a school fruit garden. It’s quiet here, it’s cool in the heat, the air is not so dry. The garden itself, when bees stand in it and the bees

work, seems to come to life, grows younger, acquires a special beauty and attractiveness. Someone very aptly said: “A garden without bees, that a house without windows.”

The beehives in the apiary are placed so that the morning sun illuminates them, early woke up and enticed bees, and in the hot midday hours, on the contrary, they were covered with a shadow. When the hives heat up, they become stuffy in them. Bees from this work worse. Instead of flying for nectar, many stay at home and begin to lower the temperature in the nest. After all, there are larvae. They are very sensitive to the temperature and humidity of the air, its oxygen saturation.

From the stuffiness they can suffocate, become sober. Often, especially on hot days, bees leave the nest, go outside (into the air) and spread out on the front wall of the hive. This they eliminate the tightness and stuffiness in the nest. If the hives stand in the sun, from overheating, sometimes even honeycombs melt. Bees need coolness. In the forest, they never experience the heat, so they must be protected in the apiary by green friends.

Hive from the hive is usually placed in 2-3 m and even further. This makes it possible to approach them freely, it is convenient to work at the open socket. And bees, flying, do not interfere with each other. Hives are placed in a row, not horrible. The apiary of this becomes neat, cozy, beautiful. There should not be any foreign objects on it.

Color hives better white. It protects them from overheating by the sun. In addition, according to this color, the bees remember well the location of their nest. For more elegance beehives hives can be painted in the yellow and blue colors, which so often meet insects in nature.

In red, the hives are not colored. His bees do not see. Green hives merge with grass, leaves of bushes and trees, therefore are inconspicuous. Bees, especially young ones, first flew out of the hive, can get lost and not return to their nest.
