Folding door
1. General view of the folding door.
In small premises (kitchen, bath, toilet, corridor) the door took quite a lot of space. One of the French firms has developed the design of the door, which, opening up, takes up to three times less space than usual.
2. Construction of the folding door: A – regular door – opens in a circle; B – folding door – opens on an ellipse; 1 – the axis of the curtain; 2 – the curtain; 3 – a pin embedded in the guide.
To do this, the door leaf at a distance of 1/3 of the width was divided into two elements, connected together by curtains. Such “folding” door did not open in a circle, as usual, but on an ellipse.
3. Saving area; A – in the kitchen; B – in the corridor; In – in the toilet.
They can be installed in a conventional box by installing a curtain and mounting a guide on the top jamb. At the bottom of the door, the guide rail is not necessary.
