A proven method of replanting the uterus
In the magazine was published the article “Proven method of replanting.” The author received many letters with a request to clarify – how to organize active ventilation of the bee nest and cells with the inserted uterus during the night. At the request of readers, the author of the article sent additional material that will help successfully apply this method.
A nest of bees with an old uterus is examined at 14 – 15 o’clock. At this time, remove the uterus and uterus, if any. The nest is insulated. In the evening, after the end of summer, the bees, the hive is opened, the pillow (mat), the canvas and the ceiling are removed. A cell with a young fetal uterus, provided with food (honey), is placed on the frame of the nest above the small street, where the most bees are. Warmings, the ceiling is cleaned.
A support is placed under the roof from the front side. Air during the night freely circulates over the nest and cages with the uterus – so specific odors are eliminated.
Early in the morning, the day before the departure of bees from the hives, cautiously release the uterus from the cell. She quietly walks into the street to the bees. The nest of bees is insulated and covered with a roof. Reception of queens is 93-100%.
Lines by force of four or five streets on the honeycomb with brood at the outlet and feed are organized in the middle of the day. The flying bee returns to its family. There should be no queen cells on the honeycomb in the bend.
The uterus (fetus or barren) is inserted in the manner described above. Admission of fetal uterus to 100%, barren – 93 98%.
When the weak families are united before the main bribe and when preparing for the winter, preliminary (for 15 hours) the worst uterus is removed from the nest. Both families ventilate during the night. In the morning before the departure of the beehives from
When correcting the brutalized family, it is first of all forced to starve. To do this, shake in the hive for empty honeycombs (without feed) for 24-30 hours. The flaps are closed tightly. The beehive is transferred to a cool place. After the fast, the family is returned to their original place. Before sunset, one honeycomb with food is placed in the nest of bees and the fetus is placed in the manner described above. In the morning, the uterus is released, the nest is warmed, and the lettuce is opened for the passage of four bees. Reception of queens 95-98%. At large industrial apiaries, corrected laborers should be attached to weak or medium-strength families, shaking their bees for the diaphragm in the evening.
Beekeepers in their letters ask also to talk about the use of royal jelly when sending the queens by mail.
In the years 1949-1950. I sent the queens to kandi with the addition of 3-5% royal jelly, extracted from unsealed queen cells. Experienced, I found that the uterus, sent on the stern with the addition of royal jelly, did not lose the egg-laying ability and immediately began to lay eggs. The intake of such queens is always 95-98%.
I propose sending the queens by mail on an improved feed containing 10% royal jelly and 90% honey, well mixed and incorporated into a special wax capsule of the transfer cell. The uterus always reached the recipient in a good physiological state, there were no deaths.
As you know, when replacing or replacing the uterus, many problems arise. It is difficult to cover with a mesh cap on a honeycomb with young bees emerging from the cells. At this point, the uterus can fly, under the cap, with it may be flying bees, you can accidentally pressurize the uterus with the edge of the cap.
To the spikes of the cap he attaches a circle cut from a paper, whose diameter is 1 mm larger than the diameter of the cap. Attaches the transfer cell and, having bent the edge of the paper, starts the uterus.
The cap places on the selected section of the honeycomb, and then gently pulls out the paper circle.
Bees must release the uterus themselves. For this purpose, a notch with a width of 10 mm is made in the metal rim of the uterine cap
