Against the swarming of the bees, I use a 8 mm thick plywood box made by me.
In its front wall a 100×10 mm chute is made. To it, on two bolts, a 200X120X25 mm adapter tube is made, made of galvanized sheet 1. A large number of holes with a diameter of 3 mm are drilled in it. In the back wall of the portable box there is a hole with a diameter of 100 mm closed by a mesh. Through it, you can observe the appearance of bees. In the box I put six frames with I sushi and one with perga.
Noticing the messy years of bees near the hive, I approach him and begin to observe. Making sure that the swarm goes out, I close the tapholes and put before the hive on the bench 3 a portable box 2 with a branch pipe. Having opened the top latch, I move the box close to the tap hole. Bees freely pass into it from the hive through the branch pipe. After ten minutes, I move the box a little from the tap. Those bees that flew before I closed the bolt, hang over the branch pipe. I shake them into the portable box and carry them to the cold room.
If the swarm still came out or I did not have time to close the gate valves before the exit of the uterus and he was planted on the tree, I do so. Using a coupling 1, I connect three or four aluminum pipes 2 two meters in length, 26 mm in diameter each.
At the upper end of the resulting pole I strengthen the roller 3 with a diameter of 30 mm, through which I pass the clothes line 4, first tying it to the handle 5 of the mobile box 6. I put the pole with a slight inclination towards the tree, and the upper end of the pipe rest on the fork of the branch on which the swarm. Opening the lid of the box, I lift it to the scion. I install the pole so that the open drawer comes close to the swarm. After five to seven minutes I lower it to the ground, close it with a lid and carry it to a cold place.
Sometimes I have to place my apiary in a pine forest. There you can not shoot swarms in the manner described above – the large lower branches of the tree interfere. In this case, I use a rope ladder for a length of seven meters. In the aluminum pipe I insert a device with two wheels, on which I throw a ladder with a powerful hook, withstanding the load of more than 100 kg. The upper end of the pipe with the wheels pressed against the tree and I carry the ladder along the trunk up to the firm bitch. Having thrown a hook on it, I climb the stairs to the tree, taking with me a portable box on the rope. I remove the swarm, close the box with a lid and lower it to the ground.
